Road closed as fire crews called to bus

The incident happened at around 8.30pm in Lord Street and involved a Blackpool Transport bus

The road was closed as crews attended the double decker.

The driver and passengers were evacuated from the bus before emergency services arrived

An over heated brake was blamed for the alert which resulted in a small fire.

Crews from Bispham and Fleetwood attended and used a water jet to put out the flames and cool the wheel.

The road was re-opened around 20 minutes later.

Tram services were disrupted while fire crews dealt with the incident.
