RNLI and Coastguard rescue man from sea in Blackpool

A man was rescued from the sea in Blackpool last night (Monday, September 21).

RNLI and HM Coastguard volunteers were called out at 9.42pm after a person was spotted in the sea near North Pier.

Coastguard rescue officers searched the area and found a man in the water.

They alerted the RNLI team who had been searching the shoreline in a D-class lifeboat and the man was brought safely to shore.

He was then passed into the care of ambulance teams and taken to Blackpool Vic.
