Resort road closed in high winds
Coronation Street in Blackpool was temporarily closed tonight as high winds caused havoc across the resort.
Heavy gusts were whistling across the town, loosening slates and making structures unstable.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service’s Phil Jones, Community Protection Manager for Blackpool and Fylde Districts, posted this picture on Twitter of the service at the scene on an incident.
He said: “Wind playing havoc on Coronation Street, Blackpool. Road temp closed whilst slates made safe.”
