Resort funnyman Duggie Clark dies at 84

Resort comic Duggie Clark has died at the age of 84, his family announced.

The funnyman, who starred for over 10 years in the 70s and 80s in the Music Hall on Central Pier for the late Peter Webster, died peacefully in Blackpool Victoria Hospital on Friday, January 20.

A service and cremation will be held at Cottingley Hall Crematorium in Leeds on Monday at 1pm, his family said in a Gazette announcement yesterday.

Prior to that, Duggie – real name Douglas – will rest in the private chapel at Bennett of Morley Funeral Directors, in Queen Street, Morley.

Fans have been asked not to give flowers, but donations to the hospital, which may be left at the service.
