Jellymedia has run competition events for big names in international computer games

Well, a Blackpool media company is looking for four people to do just that – creating videos to boost its work with computer games companies worldwide.

Jellymedia, based at Faraday Way, is on the lookout for up and coming local talent to work across its new video content production project: Ice Cream Uploads.

Ice Cream Uploads is part of the 20 year old Blackpool-based agency that specialises in creative marketing and events for the games industry.

As a Twitch TV partnered channel, Ice Cream will release daily live video content with a focus on video games and gaming culture.

In a direct response to audience demand, Jelly is looking to recruit four new team members from the local area for paid, part time work on the project with the aim of creating the internet’s next big gaming superstars.

Founded by football fans Lee Schofield and Mark Bamber above a sunbed shop in Poulton, the company has grown year on year and has worked with global names such as computer games giant Konami UK, and Koch Media. It has run the PES (Pro Evolution Soccer) websites - an online community used by players all around the world and organised the game’s live events.

The firm organised PES League, Pro Evolution Soccer’s online competitive gaming system and last year staged the PES League World Finals worldwide and brought the 16 finalists to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium to crown the champion.

Graham Day, Jelly’s head of social media and community management, said: “Our audience is constantly growing which is fantastic because it means we can offer this as a paid opportunity for those living in the FY postcode.

“This is an exciting project that anybody with a passion for video games and a basic understanding of video platforms like YouTube and Twitch can get involved in.”

The role offers local talent the opportunity to create and collaborate on original video content.

They would be working both on and behind the camera, while “allowing them to share their passion for gaming with a huge community of fans”.

Successful candidates will receive full training and work around 10-15 hours per week at Jelly’s purpose built Ice Cream Uploads studios in Bispham.
