Catch22bus was told last week its licence to operate would be withdrawn following a breakdown in trust between the firm and regulators.

Those issues surrounded a video published on the internet featuring North West traffic commissioner Beverley Bell.

The footage was filmed by a private investigator hired by Catch22 boss Philip Higgs following a dispute between the pair.

The firm has submitted an appeal to the Upper Tribunal over the decision to revoke its licence.

That appeal has now been granted and the company has been given a ‘stay’ on the revocation, which was due to come into force on January 18.

The company has said it will continue to operate services and is expanding this month with a new Sunday only service linking Knott End to Cleveleys.

Mr Higgs, Managing Director of Catch22Bus said: “We now look forward to presenting the company’s case to the Upper Tribunal and until then it is very much business as usual”.
