Pupils at Moor Park Primary swapped their normal PE lesson for a special session of circuit training with
Rebekah who competed in the two-women bobsleigh at this year’s Games in Sochi.

Manchester-born Rebekah started out in athletics in her teens and went on to win five national titles.

She has now taken her achievements and experiences on the road by teaming up with ‘Sports for Champions’ to get young children excited about getting active.

The organisation hosted an assembly at the school and set the children a sponsorship task where they had to raise money.

Assistant headteacher Caroline Tricket said: “When the event came about the whole school got involved and had to do a series of circuits
going from one classroom to the next. We rotated the tasks over two hours in the afternoon.”

The sponsored fitness challenge was set up to inspire children of today to be champions of tomorrow and for Moor Park pupils it seems to have done just that.

“The children were so enthusiastic and thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. It’s really inspired the children to consider a future in sport,” Caroline added.

An inspirational talk was also given by Rebekah on her journey to the Olympics and the importance of healthy eating and exercise.
