Rally in support of terminally ill youngster Alfie Evans on Blackpool's Promenade
A gathering will take place on Blackpool's Comedy Carpet this afternoon as a show of support for terminally ill Alfie Evans.
The decision of a court to back plans for doctors at Alfer Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool to withdraw the 23-month-old's life support sparked protests, attracting hundreds of people.
Now Fylde coast residents campaigning in support of Alfie, and his parents who want to fly their son to Italy for treatment, have arranged their own demonstration in front of the Tower.
The peaceful protest is planned for 3pm on the Comedy Carpet.
