Pupils unearth past in big dig
They went on a dig in Watson Road Park which yielded some surprises and then wrote a newspaper report about it.

Year 3 pupils from Thames Primary Academy went to Watson Road Park and made an exciting discovery.

Hide AdThey went to see what was happening in the park because they heard something interesting was going on.
They dug gently and carefully with a trowel to look for treasure in the ground.
They found bones that felt hard. They also found some metal jugs and some rock hard fossils.
“This is so amazing!” cried one of the pupils.
The Thames pupils took them back to school to have a closer look at the treasure they had discovered.

Hide AdThames Academy pupils made a big discovery in Watson Road Park.
They travelled to a corner of the park. When they got there, they dug with trowels.
They were thrilled by the big discovery. Then they found some fossils and a metal cup and also some bones.
“What a lot of treasure!” declared a class teacher.
They brought the fossils, cup and bones back to school for a closer look.

Hide AdThames Pupils discovered lots of amazing Bronze Age remains at Watson Road Park.
Children from Thames Primary Academy carried out an investigation and uncovered artefacts from Prehistoric times. They uncovered Bronze Age pots, a bone and also a skeleton.
This was a very interesting experience for the children.
A Thames pupil said, “When I found a bone it was so exciting!”
