Blackpool’s Central Promenade will close next month as filming takes place for an upcoming feature film.
Town Hall bosses have agreed the closure to allow Fox Productions to shoot the film between May 5 and May 9.
The Promenade will be fully closed to all traffic and pedestrians between Adelaide Street West and Church Street during these dates.
St John’s Square will be opened for taxis and bus services which council bosses say they hope will minimise any inconvenience.
The tramway will also be disrupted and will operate a split service due to the Promenade closure on Wednesday May 6, Thursday May 7 and Friday May 8 between 6am and 3pm.
Alan Cavill, director of place for Blackpool Council, said: “For the next month Fox UK Productions is in Blackpool filming scenes for an upcoming feature film.
“We know any closure to the Promenade can cause disruption so we have decided to open St John’s Square for taxis and bus services to use which we hope will minimise any inconvenience.
“The closure of this section of the Promenade is essential to allow the filming to take place, as soon as the road can be reopened it will be.”
