Steven Roy Gratrix, 64, Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust governor for Fylde, has had his first vaccine and was keen to praise the service and also put people's mind at rest over the jab.

Steven, who is the son of Blackpool FC football legend Roy Gratrix, said: "The volunteer marshal for outside queuing control was masked, very helpful and pleasant.

"The queue was only few in number due to the text appointment times and the ease at which the vaccine volunteers welcomed and progressed people through.

"There was a defined one way system through out the process.

"The staff and volunteers displayed care, kindness, respect in a professional atmosphere alleviating any sense of worry or trepidation."

Steven, who formerly lived in Blackpool but now lives at Labreck, said he had been advised he was unable to have the Pfizer vaccine due to allergies and instead had a dose of the Astra Zenica vaccine at the centre, which is overseen by business manager Amy Robinson.

He added: "The vaccination was administered to me by Emma Seddon

"I thank them for their time and willingness to help in the community."
