More than 1,500 properties in Thornton were hit by a power cut this afternoon.
The electricity supply went off at 1,555 properties in the FY5 area before shortly 3.55pm.
The problem was caused by an underground cable fault.
A spokesman for Electricity North West said: “Our engineers visited the site as quickly as possible to assess the fault and repair the damage.
“We restored power to 1,456 properties within one hour and the remaining customers were restored at 5.34pm.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
