The Warton Street Post Office will reopen at Crofts Newsagents, just 150m from its former site where it was run by Coun Mark Bamforth.

The service will launch at 1pm on Monday.

The new branch will be designed to Post Office guidelines to ensure easy access and that there is adequate space for wheelchair users inside. There will also be a hearing loop at the counter.

Troy Gardner, Regional Manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

He added: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office.”

Post Office services on offer will include mail services, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.

Other services include withdrawals using a Post Office Card Account, sending funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can also pay bills, pre-order travel money, and top up mobile phones.
