Fleetwood-based pharmacist Chris Roberts has been shortlisted for a prestigious award.
And he needs the votes of patients to ensure he reaches the national final.
Chris has been confirmed as a regional finalist in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s I Love My Pharmacist Award.
The 45 year old has worked in Fleetwood for 17 years, initially managing Warburtons Chemist before working as a part time practice clinical pharmacist for the Bellevue, Broadway and Mount View practices.
Now he is working at the Broadway Medical Centre and has been recognised as a pharmacist who goes the extra mile for patients in his local community - one of the main features of the award.
Chris is one of 23 pharmacist shortlisted for the accolade and has been put forward due to his outstanding contribution supporting patients with chronic diseases.
Chris said: “It is a real honour to be selected in the I Love My Pharmacist Award.
“I am passionate about helping people within the community with chronic diseases.
“My work sees me working closely with different skilled professionals within hospitals, GP Surgeries and local communities to optimise patient medical treatment.”
On a daily basis, he runs medication reviews and chronic disease management clinics in a local GP surgery.
He sees up to 20 patients a day with chronic disease including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, diabetes and hypertension, reviewing medication and discussing their treatment
Pharmacists have been called the unsung heroes of the NHS, dispensing medicines and also working alongside GPs, nurses and hospital staff.
