Anthony Hemmerdinger, managing director of Greene King’s Local Pubs division, said: “It is always exciting when the doors to a newly transformed pub are once again opened to the public.

“These are expertly designed changes to the Taps, with particular emphasis to improving its outside space, and I am sure the people of Lytham will thoroughly enjoy them.”

Popular with real ale drinkers, the pub has won several awards for its special brews and was named Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre 2014 Campagin for Real Ale (CAMRA) Pub of the Year in 2014 – beating around 150 pubs and bars to the top prize.

Steve Norris, manager of the Taps, said the new design would give the pub a fresh look but help retain its original features.

He added: “I am really looking forward to showing off the new look Taps and am confident the refurbishment, as well as the new menu, will be universally welcomed.

“It now has a modern look, but we have retained our traditional feel and stayed true to our roots. This has been a fantastic opportunity to give ourselves a stylish new design which we feel will broaden the pub’s appeal and see new faces join our regular customers.”
