Wyre Council sets up online form for reporting breaches of coronavirus rules

Wyre Council has set up an online form for residents to report businesses which should be closed, and other issues relating to the coronavirus pandemic.

The form can be used to report open businesses which residents feel should be closed, as well as issues in the workplace around social distancing or infection control in Wyre.

Problems with queuing outside public places, and gatherings of more than six people in public or private can also be reported by completing the form.

From Monday (September 14) it became illegal to meet with friends or family in groups of more than six people in England, unless you live together or have previously formed a "support bubble."

The police have powers to enforce the legal limits with fixed penalty notices, the Government said.

On Tuesday, home secretary Priti Patel said she would report her neighbours if they were gathered in a group of more than six people, and told BBC Breakfast: "I think anybody would want to take responsibility and ensure we’re not spreading this awful disease, and therefore if I saw gatherings of more than six people clearly I would report that."
