Many have been returned by residents, but anyone who does not do so could lose their right to vote in any election or referendum held next year.

Tracy Morrison, Fylde Council’s electoral registration officer, said: “Compiling the electoral register is a vital part of the democratic process as only people on the register can cast a vote.

“Democracy can only work when everyone has their say and they can do that by completing the form.

“These forms really are simple to complete, but many people forget to do it hence our visits over the next month.

“Democracy belongs to everyone and we don’t want anyone to miss out.”
