Blackpool Council is urging residents to ensure their names are on the electoral register.
During October, all residents in the town will be receiving their annual voter registration form through the post, together with information on how to register.
Being on the electoral register ensures residents are able to vote in future elections and referendums, giving people an opportunity to have a say.
The information provided can also play an important and helpful part in credit checks, as companies use the register when people apply for services such as loans and bank accounts.
The new register of electors will be published in February 2014. For help call (01253) 477490 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
