A row has erupted over the money paid to Jamal al-Harith, previously known as Ronald Fiddler, with Labour and Conservatives blaming each other for the reported handout.

Hide AdTabling an urgent question in the Commons, Labour’s Yvette Cooper said Britons will be “sickened” at the payment.
But Mr Wallace, currently the security minister, failed to answer repeated questions over how much was paid to the jihadi.
He told MPs it is the “long-standing policy of successive governments not to comment on intelligence matters”.
His words were met with groans and heckles from the Labour benches.
The parties blame each other for Jamal al-Harith’s release and payout.
