Coun Taylor, whose seat is Wyre Rural Central is cabinet member for health and wellbeing.

The pair are part of an eight-strong leadership team at the authority.

New council leader Coun Geoff Driver said his team faces challenges in the weeks to come. The new cabinet will have to work out how best to spend the authority’s limited resources having promised before the election to re-open a number of services closed by the Labour administration.

Coun Driver, who is currently on police bail as part of the long-running One Connect investigation, said: “We have one purpose as an organisation and that is to serve the people of Lancashire.

“The council clearly faces financial challenges and our first priority is to ensure that we develop a way forward that will enable us to continue to provide the services that our residents need.

“That will include looking at where we spend the money that we do have, to ensure that the frontline services valued by our residents are protected. We are looking forward to rolling up our sleeves and getting to work to deliver on our promises.”

Coun Taylor is a long-serving member of both Lancashire County Council and Wyre Council, where she represents Preesall and Knott End.

Coun Buckley is a member of Fylde Council and was elected to Lancashire County Council in 2013. He works as a music teacher in schools across the area and is musical director for Lytham Amateur Operatic Society.
