Arms explosion on Blackpool beach
Military supplies went up in flames on Blackpool south beach in a 'controlled explosion'.
Blackpool police closed off the area while Royal Logistics carried out the detonation at around 3.20pm today.
A police spokesman said: "This is part of their routine operations to dispose of ordnance and is nothing to be worried about."
