Policeman in drug deal case

A BLACKPOOL policeman charged with drug dealing has appeared at Liverpool Crown Court.

PC Thomas Hatton, a section officer based at Bispham police station, was charged with 11 offences including being concerned in the supply of cannabis and possessing anabolic steroids with intent to supply.

He was also charged with eight counts of misconduct in public office, relating to the access of police information.

The 24-year-old was suspended by Lancashire Police in May.

He appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.

A plea and case management hearing was set for October 14 at the same court.
