Police stand-off leaves residents shut out of homes
Police negotiators have been called to a Blackpool street after a man in his 20s sparked a stand-off.
Officers were called to Belmont Avenue, off Central Drive at 12.50pm today amid reports the man was threatening to harm himself.
The road was sealed off and resident were not allowed to their homes on the street for several hours.
It is not known if the man had a weapon.
It is believed to have started as a domestic incident.

Hide AdWitnesses said at 3pm there were at least eight police cars in the street.
A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said a trained police negotiator had been called to the scene.
Police later said they had arrested a man at the scene.
