Police search for occupants after van crashes into stationary car on driveway in Blackpool during the early hours

Police are searching for the driver of a van after it crashed into a stationary car in Blackpool in the early hours of today.

The car is understood to have been on the driveway of a house.

Fire crews and police attended the scene on Poulton Road.

Lancashire Police confirmed there had been an incident at 3.57am.

A spokesman said: "It would appear a van has crashed into a stationary vehicle and there's some damage to a wall.

"The occupants of the van have left the scene and our inquiries will continue.

"There were no arrests."

Eye witness Andrew Cropper, who took this photograph, tweeted: "Van has crashed into a stationary car on a drive. Debris in road. Multiple police cars arrived and fire brigade appeared to extinguish smoke coming from the stationary car."
