Lancashire Police said it had been dealing with an increase in complaints about employees from civil service offices parking in their roads near Warbreck House.

As well as dealing with traffic issues, officers have spoken to managers at the Department for Work and Pensions about the continuing issues.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “A traffic enforcement operation was carried out in the vicinity of Chelsea Avenue and Bispham Road on Thursday.

“This was due to numerous complaints from residents last month about unauthorised parking in this area. The neighbourhood policing team has been liaising with the DWP regarding the parking situation due to the number of staff who park in the local area.

Residents have reported a marked reduction in numbers of people parking in this access only area as a result.”

Earlier this month traffic officers carried out a similar operation targeting drivers using Bipsham streets close to the office complex as ‘rat runs’.
