A police drugs raid netted 37 snap bags full of drugs hidden in a box at a caterer’s home.

Stuart Dawson was vulnerable and had been pressed into selling cannabis by his dealer, a judge was told.

Dawson, 26, formerly of Lodore Road, South Shore, now living at Summerville Avenue, Staining, pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis with intent to supply the drug.

He was bailed for pre-sentence reports by District Judge Tom Moran sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court. Jane Yates, prosecuting, said police executed a drugs search warrant at Dawson’s previous address in Lodore Road on June 11 at 2.50pm where they found packs of cannabis valued at £425.

Robert Castle, defending, said his client, who had no previous convictions, had used cannabis for some time. He became addicted to it and it affected his state of mind.

Dawson was depressed and vulnerable and was asked by the man who supplied him with cannabis to help him supply the drugs to others.
