Fire crews were called to tackle a “deliberate” blaze on land in Freckleton.
Emergency services were called to Kirkham Road, where a fire had started on waste land behind a building that is being demolished.
Plastic pallets were on fire, and black smoke could be seen for miles.
Nobody was hurt, and police and the fire and rescue service are now investigating the blaze, thought to have been started deliberately.
Fire crews used breathing apparatus and a jet to tackle the fire. Two fire engines went to the blaze at about 8.10am yesterday.
