Police incident at Sainsburys in Talbot Road

A vulnerable woman made her way onto the roof of a supermarket car park in Blackpool, say police.

A vulnerable woman made her way on to the roof of a supermarket car park in Blackpool

Police received reports of the woman at the Sainsburys car park in Talbot Road at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, March 28.

Specially trained officers spent around an hour negotiating with the woman.

A spokesman for the police said: "We received reports of the woman on the car park roof.

"Thankfully we managed to successfully negotiate with her and she came down at around 9.30pm."

Bystanders said the entrance to the car park on Talbot Road was cordoned off.

There was also a heavy police presence in area at the time of the incident.

Police say nobody was injured.
