POLICE were today hunting for a man wanted for the alleged robbery of three students. Police in hunt for student ‘phone robber’

Andrew Clayton, 26, of Charles Street, Blackpool, was due to stand trial at Preston Crown Court last month charged with three counts of robbery.

It is alleged Clayton – armed with a screwdriver – held up three people at student accommodation on Palatine Road in Blackpool on February, 20, last year, stealing mobile phones from the students.

However, he failed to attend and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Clayton is from Blackpool but is known to have links in South Yorkshire and police are keen to speak with anybody who may know where he is.

Det Con Steve Higgs said: “We are very keen to trace Andrew Clayton and would appeal to anybody who may know of his current whereabouts or has had any contact with him recently to contact police.”
