Police are appealing for a man they believe was punched and kicked during street attack to come forward amid concerns for his health.

Detectives were alerted to the alleged assault when passers-by reported what they saw on Lytham Road on Monday.

They have seen them kicking a man in the head and body while he was curled up in the foetal position

Det Sgt Kathryn Riley, of Blackpool CID, said: “Two independent witnesses have seen this attack and rung the police.

“We don’t know where the victim has gone and have been unable to identify him.”

Police fear the man has not been to hospital for treatment and may be in need of medical attention.

The attack is reported to have taken place at around 9.40pm on Monday, close to the Excelsior pub.

Det Sgt Riley added: “We are appealing to the person who has been subjected to the assault to make themselves known to police.”

Two men have been charged with affray and have since made their first appearance at court.

Anybody with information is urged to call police on 101 and quote log number 1459 of May 11.
