Police appeal after gold shop robbery

Police are hunting for a knife-wielding raider after a robbery at a Fylde coast gold dealers.

Officers are appealing for information after a man entered The Gold Shop in Wood Street, St Annes, around 10am on Thursday morning brandishing a knife and demanding money.

The 69-year-old shopkeeper told the man he had no money, causing the robber to grab a chain and a triple bangle before running off along Park Road.

Det Con Warren Jones from Blackpool CID said: “I would appeal to anybody that has any information about this robbery to come forward and call police.

“Luckily the shopkeeper was unharmed but we need witnesses to come forward.”

The man is described as being aged around 40, but looking younger.

He is of average build and between 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall, with brown eyes and was wearing a brown bobble hat, brown scar and a three quarter length brown jacket with dark trousers. He spoke with a local accent.
