Police appeal after elderly woman struck by car

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after an elderly woman was knocked down in St Annes.

The 85-year-old woman, who was using a walking frame, was crossing Hornby Road at the junction of Clifton Drive South when she was struck by a car at around 10.15am on Sunday, October 6.

The car, a red Honda Jazz, was being driven by an 81-year-old woman.

The victim suffered a number of broken bones and remains in Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Now police are urging witnesses to come forward.

PC Mick Bristow, of Western Division Road Policing Unit, said: “I would urge anybody that was in the Hornby Road area of St Annes on Sunday morning that witnessed this incident to contact police so we can establish exactly what has happened.”
