Police appeal after dog dies in hit and run
Officers said Lucy, a black cocker spaniel, was run over around 10am on August 25 in Collingwood Avenue.
The driver was seen getting out of the car, believed to be a small black or dark grey hatchback, looking at the dog and then driving off without leaving his details.

Hide AdLucy sustained fatal injuries in the collision and had to be put to sleep by a vet.
He added: “The owner is absolutely distraught, not only has this beloved family pet been with them for 13 years but it was also a companion dog for their autistic son, helping to calm him on a daily basis.
“Their son is now inconsolable about what has happened.”
The driver is described as white, in his late thirties to early forties, with dark hair and was wearing a black quilted jacket. It is thought he had a young girl aged around six-years-old with blonde hair.
