The plans, posted on entertainment website Reddit by user 330ml, suggest thrill-seekers will be subjected to a white knuckle rollercoaster complete with inclined loop, zero-gravity roll, and a twister Immelmann – a half-loop followed by a half-twist.

The coaster will pass through the Big One’s lift hill supports, extend across the former Tom Sawyer lake, and run alongside the historic Big Dipper, while visitors will be able to look down on the Steeplechase ride as they pass overhead.

The park has yet to comment on the plans, while boss Amanda Thompson remained tight-lipped when speaking to The Gazette last month, though that hasn’t stopped theme park fanatics speculating online.

Writing on the Coasterforce forum, user cjbrandy said: “I’m not in the know but if the enthusiasts who are say it’s going to be amazing and that there’s a lot to it, I’m satisfied.

“I’m pretty certain we’re about to see something that’s easily the best coaster in the UK and perhaps one of the top 10 in the whole of Europe.”
