SCORES of young people from South Shore have taken part in a summer activity scheme.
Blackpool FC players Gerardo Bruna and Angel Martinez joined Blackpool South MP Gordon Marsden and members of Blackpool FC Community Trust, who organised the project, in presenting awards to the 100 youngsters involved.
A number of activity, including football, were offered to participants at the event, held at Palatine Sports College, in South Shore.
Speaking at the event, Mr Marsden said: “I am delighted to be at one of the excellence summer schools that the trust are again putting on this year to support young people in the area, not just with improving their football skills but also getting across the importance of discipline, good team work and having fun.
“These have all been characteristics of the wonderful Olympics we have just held.”
