An application to build eight properties close to a rural Fylde village has been thrown out.
The proposed development at the rear of Broad Oak Lane, Blackpool, would have seen an access road built coming out of The Nook in Staining.
In April, residents met with the planning inspector to share their concerns, which included impacts on wildlife, loss of green space and traffic, as well as concerns about drainage.
This week the inspector dismissed the scheme.
Coun John Singleton, Fylde Councillor for Staining and Weeton Villages said: “If we believe in keeping this part of rural Fylde countryside green we have to object to these plans.
“We have not been successful in all our objections to building on open countryside in Staining but we must continue the fight.”
