Slimming World consultants from Blackpool were congratulated on helping slimmers change their lives by singer and TV presenter Peter Andre.

The team, who run groups on the Fylde coast, got the chance to meet the Aussie star when he presented the annual Slimming World Awards at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre.

Blackpool consultant Jason Richardson said: “Throughout 2017 our members lost fantastic amounts of weight, with many of them hitting target weights, improving their health and boosting their confidence.

“It’s so rewarding to see people being able to do things they didn’t think were possible, whether that’s having more energy, feeling happier, wearing smaller clothes, taking up new hobbies, reducing medication or doing more with family and friends. Meeting Peter was a real treat. He was bowled over by the difference Slimming World makes to people’s lives and it reminded us what important and privileged roles we have.”

Fellow consultant Mandy Ferneyhough added: “Lots of people will be making resolutions to lose weight and improve their health this New Year. I truly believe joining Slimming World is the best way for people to lose weight, learn new habits and improve their lifestyle.”

Peter said he was honoured to present the awards: “I met so many incredible people who lost amazing amounts of weight and transformed themselves – inside and out. While each was inspirational in their own special way, one thing they all had in common was how much they felt they owed their “Slimming World family” in helping them do things they always dreamed of and become the people they’ve always wanted to be.”
