Building work has commenced on a drive through Starbucks and Burger King after plans at the Coronation Way site were given the green light by planning officers last year.

The development is a project by Blackburn-based Euro Garages and was granted in April 2019 . Some initial ground work began in Autumn however the metal structures for the buildings have since been constructed.

Although Euro Garages have not officially confirmed which retailers would occupy the new buildings, job adverts have been posted by the company to work for Starbucks and Burger King at the site.

The two franchises are also listed as partners on Euro Garages’ website.

As well as the two drive through buildings, parking for 37 cars will be provided at the site, which would be managed by Parking Eye according to the application.

In the application it states: “Euro Garages has full control of the entire application site and will operate the brands, known as Brand Partners.”

There is currently no official opening date for the Burger King or Starbucks and it’s expected that due to the coronavirus pandemic across the country building work will be delayed at the site.

Euro Garages was contacted by the Gazette for comment on the story.
