A hit West End musical is set to thrill theatre-goers in Blackpool this autumn.

Thriller Live is returning to the Grand Theatre for a week-long run in October.

The show, which last September made the record books as the 20th longest running musical in London’s West End, where it has played in the Lyric Theatre since 2009, is a tribute to the music and life of the King Of Pop Michael Jackson.

Fans of the Thriller Live and Jackson were treated to a display from the production during the Illuminations Switch-On Festival last summer, featuring Blackpool-born dancer Rose Wild.

Members of the Friends Of The Grand scheme can exclusively get their hands on tickets tomorrow from 10am, before they go on general sale on Wednesday at 10am.

Andrew Howard, marketing manager at the Grand Theatre, said: “We are delighted to announce that the incredibly popular Thriller Live will return to us this autumn, direct from London’s West End.

“The production is always a firm favourite with audiences and we look forward to welcoming the company back to the Grand this year.”

Thriller Live recently started its seventh year in the West End and is the longest-running production in the Lyric Theatre’s 125-year history.

The show is packed with MJ’s hits, including I Want You Back, ABC, Can You Feel It, Off The Wall, The Way You Make Me Feel, Smooth Criminal, Beat It, Billie Jean, Dirty Diana, Bad, Rock With You, They Don’t care About Us, Dangerous, Heal The World and - of course - Thriller.

The hits are performed by a cast representing the different phases of the late star’s life, presented as a spectacular concert with live singers and dancers.

It promises ‘a visual, audio and electrifying journey through the magic of Michael’s 45-year musical history’.

The spokesman added: “Experience over two hours of non-stop hits from pop to rock, soul to disco in a show that pays homage Jackson’s legendary live performances and innovative dance moves executed with flair, precision and passion in a show that you will never forget.”
