St Annes barbers fined £1,000 for lockdown trading

A St Annes business has been fined £1,000 for continuing to trade during lockdown.

Fylde Council has confirmed it served a prohibition closure notice on Mavricks Barbers of St Albans Road.

A council spokesman said: "Following complaints alleging that the shop was open with a booking system via Facebook, the Council witnessed clientele entering the premises to use the facilities.

"The proprietor has also been issued with a £1000 fixed penalty notice.

"The public should be aware that they also could be fined £200 for visiting any premises required to close under the lockdown.
