Four year-old Elliott Heartwell from Poulton attended Sacred Heart preschool on Hey's Street, Thornton before the Government imposed a nationwide lockdown to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic.

After no longer being able to play with his friends, Elliott and mum Bethany decided to channel his energy into creating baking videos on his Facebook page 'Baking with Bobs,' to encourage other youngsters to get involved with their parents in the kitchen.

Following in the footsteps of his grandad David Cyril, who has amassed over 100,000 followers on his weight-loss Instagram page, Elliott's videos showcase a variety of treats, from a Victoria sponge for his nana's birthday, to scones and tray bakes.

Mum Bethany Heartwell, 28, said: "It all started with a Lion King cupcake kit. I videoed him and posted it to Facebook so family and friends could see what we were getting up to during lockdown.

"We ran out of cupcake kits so we then went on to bake other things, and now he’s having so much fun baking and exploring different recipes.

"I read out all the lovely comments we received to Elliott and he was absolutely over the moon.

"My sister-in-law suggested creating a page for him, and now he has over 100 followers. It helps us both to forget what's going on in the world for an hour or so."
