Plans lodged for new Poulton bar and restaurant

Proposals to turn a Poulton takeaway into a two-storey restaurant have been submitted to Wyre council.

The premises involved is the former Doodles Poulton Chippy takeaway on Ball Street, which went up for sale in April 2019.

Plans submitted on February 7 outlined a use of premises as a "restaurant and drinking establishment," retaining the current restaurant use but without takeaway facilities.

Indoor seating to the second floor has been proposed, and a balcony with a retractable roof will house outdoor summer seating for customers.

A design and access statement accompanying the application said the restaurant will "offer visitors a fine dining experience in comfortable, quiet surroundings.

"Light background music will be provided with no provision of amplified music."

The statement also said that although there is a wide offering of eateries with the town centre, this proposed restaurant will be a unique dining experience.
