Hannah, who lives in Staining, launched her first novel, Secrets in the Shadows, at Plackitt and Booth book store, Lytham, in 2014.

She signed a two-book publishing deal with Harper Impulse, an imprint of books giant HarperCollins, and now her second book is available as an e-book from all online retailers.

The Secrets of Castle du Reve tells the story of young Evelyn during the Second World War, in the quaint seaside town of Silenshore, and how she longs for a life outside the castle walls.

She dreams of attending glamorous parties, gracing the silver screen and being swept off her feet by a dashing, debonair beau.

But innocent Evelyn is unaware that her bid for freedom from the oppressive castle will change the course of more than just her life.

The novel also follows the story of sweet and intelligent Victoria, who during the early 1960s meets the man of her dreams.

But their love comes with consequences. In the shadow of the mysterious castle, they find their relationship might just be doomed from the start.

Meanwhile, in the present day, the reader finds out Isobel has just learned she’s pregnant – an unexpected challenge.

Living in the father of her child’s family home, beneath the eyes of the castle, all is not as it seems. Secrets which have been hidden for decades threaten to change the lives of Isobel’s new family irrevocably.

The three women’s lives tangle together in a web of secrets, scandal and deceit, as the legacy of the brooding Castle du Rêve is finally discovered.

Hannah – who lives with husband Dean and their four-year-old daughter Jessica, said: “I am so excited about the release of my second book.

“This time, the story is set somewhere fictional, although Blackpool was definitely an inspiration when I was creating the town for The Secrets of Castle du Rêve.

“It’s a seaside resort that’s changed over the decades, with a castle watching over the characters instead of the Tower.”

HarperImpulse managing editor, Charlotte Ledger, said: “Hannah has a beautiful and evocative writing style. An atmospheric and enthralling read, it’s a delight to see Hannah Emery going from strength-to-strength with her second book The Secrets of Castle Du Reve.”

Hannah’s first book received a four-star rating on and featured three generations of women, all of whom lived on the Fylde coast.

Hannah’s grandparents met in Blackpool while on holiday in the 1940s, before moving to the resort.
