The Secrets of Castle du Reve tells the story of young Evelyn during the Second World War, in the quaint seaside town of Silenshore, and how she longs for a life outside the castle walls.

She dreams of attending glamorous parties, gracing the silver screen and being swept off her feet by a dashing, debonair beau.

But innocent Evelyn is unaware that her bid for freedom from the oppressive castle will change the course of more than just her life.

The novel also follows the story of sweet and intelligent Victoria, who during the early 1960s meets the man of her dreams.

Hannah – who lives with husband Dean and their four-year-old daughter Jessica, said: “I am so excited about the release of my second book.

“This time, the story is set somewhere fictional, although Blackpool was definitely an inspiration when I was creating the town for The Secrets of Castle du Rêve.

“It’s a seaside resort that’s changed over the decades, with a castle watching over the characters instead of the Tower.”

HarperImpulse managing editor, Charlotte Ledger, said: “Hannah has a beautiful and evocative writing style. An atmospheric and enthralling read, it’s a delight to see Hannah Emery going from strength-to-strength with her second book The Secrets of Castle Du Reve.”
