Man found dead in home near to Blackpool's Stanley Park

A man in his 40s was found dead inside a house near Blackpool's Stanley Park, police confirmed.

Several police vehicles were pictured outside the home, on the corner of West Park Drive and Wilkinson Avenue, yesterday lunchtime, with the force telling The Gazette officers had responded to a 'concern for welfare' call.

They are understood to have smashed their way into the house before finding the man at around 11.40am.

Detectives attended, as did crime scene investigators, and they have now ruled out foul play.

Glass panels on the front door were boarded up by mid-afternoon.

A Lancashire Police spokeswoman said: "There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances at this time.

"Our thoughts are with [the man's] family and friends at this sad time."

The man is not believed to have died from Covid-19.
