Roger said: “The book took three years to write and the easiest way to describe it would be a Touch of Frost meets Devil’s Advocate’.

Writing is a great form of expression which is good for the soul.

“I know of friends who have lost loved ones who started writing to help grieve for their loss.

“I write poems to read to my daughter, it is a beautiful art form.”

Roger believes printed work should not be lost.

“So many writers are now turning to selling online through Amazon and Lulu because it is free to do so and so much easier than through publishing agencies.

“Although I firmly believe there will always be a need for printed material.

“There is no better feeling than picking up a good book and turning the pages.

“It is part of a tactile experience and you can smell the print when it’s a new book.”

In 2009, Lulu.com began publishing and distributing ebooks and has made millions of pounds through budding writers in the UK and this year the book selling giant Amazon has sold 22 million ebooks although that is only 6 per cent of book sales worldwide.

“Revenue from ebook sales in the UK in 2019 was £738m as opposed to £4,056m in the US.

“This is the reason why if you want to be a successful writer online you have to sell in the US.
