The front line in the battle against bullies is being drawn in Blackpool next week.

Blackpool Tower Circus will host a week of special conferences aimed at preventing problems in the classroom.

Hundreds of pupils from across Blackpool are expected to join in the event, hosted by human behaviour expert Norry Ashcroft – known to many in Blackpool as DJ Lionel Vinyl.

A Blackpool Tower spokesman said: “Anti-Bullying Week helps more than 500 schools tackle the issue of bullying every year, and The Blackpool Tower Circus is hoping to help make an impact this year by hosting a series of talks for local and regional schools. Taking place in the Circus Arena, the talks will aim to help students deal with the issue of bullying in schools.”

The talks, entitled ‘Why bullies are weak’, will last for 45 minutes and will explain the truth behind bullying to students.

Anti-Bullying Week is organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance and this year’s theme is ‘power for good’. Events will be taking place around the country.

The first class will take place on Monday November 14 between 1.45pm and 2.30pm with a session on Tuesday November 15 between the same times.

Both events are aimed at pupils between eight and 12-years-old. A further event for that age group will held between 1.45pm amd 2,30pm on Thursday November 17 with a session for older pupils planned on Wednesday November 16.
