Sean Maloney, who has done work for ITV, Channel 4, MTV, Closer Magazine, Wella Hair and London Fashion Week, to name just a few, held an exclusive backstage celebrity make-up artist masterclass and beauty event at House Of Halteres Academy, on Lytham Road, South Shore.

The 23-year-old who grew up in Hambleton and Blackpool, demonstrated a sophisticated day time look, before dialling up the glamour with a Kim Kardashian-inspired evening look – modelled by Emily Longden.

Sean showcases techniques including contouring, strobing, baking, blending and colour theory, as well as giving all attendees a product list and product recommendations.

He also gave those present an exclusive first look at his new luxury eye lashes, which will be launching in the next few months, called SM Lashes.

There was also an appearance by newly-crowned Miss Teen Great Britain, Ashleigh Wild, of Poulton.

The sell-out event was sponsored by Palette Official, a new social media networking site for make-up artists and make-up lovers worldwide.

Those attending received a goody bag full of products and treats.

Sean said: “The masterclass was an amazing event, it was at maximum capacity and every single person there said they wanted to attend another one!

“We will be holding a further two masterclasses in the near future.

“I showcased a really nice, soft, sophisticated day-time look, which gave a healthy, natural glow.

“They really loved it.

“And then after a break, with refreshments and some bubbly, I created a dramatic evening look, inspired by Kim Kardashian, with smoky eyes.”

Sean actually got into the make-up artist industry somewhat by accident.

It was when he had moved to Manchester to study to become a broadcast journalist and applied for a part-time job at Boots, he found himself working on the No7 make-up counter.

He was then offered a job by a Mac area manager who had popped into the store, working for Selfridges as a make-up artist, before moving on to work as a regional make-up artist for Yves Saint Laurent and then becoming a senior artist for cosmetic newcomers, Charlotte Tilbury Beauty.

Having gathered a wealth of experience and travelled all over the country, doing work for various celebrities, TV shows and fashion events, Sean is now self-employed.

Among the celebrities he has worked with are former Miss Universe Amy Willerton, pop star Jessie J, model and former Miss Great Britain Zara Holland, reality TV stars Jasmin Walia and Jem Lucy, among others.

He was even contacted by pop princess Lily Allen after she saw some of his work on Instagram.

House of Halteres, run by Nina Shaw and her business partner Ella Wahurst, is a specialist training academy, providing fully-accredited and insured beauty courses.

Nina said: “All of the House of Halteres team enjoyed having the pleasure to work with Sean and Anastasia from Palette, we are looking forward to future collaborations with them, our students have all put their names down for future events and we now have a waiting list.

“Many said they particularly loved receiving their Palette official mirror and our HH pro make up brushes in their goody bags, we think Sean’s eyelash range SM lashes works brilliantly alongside our HH eye and brow palette.”
