"I went to the shop to get my daughter a birthday card, and thought I'd get some crayons for the kids to colour some rainbows, but I couldn't find any anywhere.

"Then I saw balloons, so I bought 500, and now we have a big balloon rainbow outside the house for everyone to see.

"The children couldn't colour any rainbows but they still found a way to show the doctors and nurses how much we appreciate everything they are doing."

Mr Wilson said his children wanted everyone to see their efforts, and they have even had sweets brought to their house for them by generous passers-by.
