Beautiful new start for friends
Michelle Sunter and Abbie Weekes had worked together at a Blackpool salon for around 18 months when an opportunity came up for them to open their own salon – something Michelle had always dreamed about.
And the building they picked, for Unique Beauty, turned out to be the same spot Michelle had nearly become an apprentice when first starting out in beauty a decade ago.

Hide AdShe said: “We came across the empty shop in Wood Street, in St Annes, and decided to just go for it and turn our dreams into reality and team up together as business partners.
“It’s something I have always wanted to do, it’s always been the dream, to have my own salon.
“We just felt the time was right and we would go for it.
“And seeing the empty shop it felt like a sign.
“I grew up around St Annes and funnily enough, nearly did an apprenticeship in this building – but I chose to go to college. So it’s nice because it’s almost like it’s full circle.”
Unique Beauty is based on Wood Street and offers a wide range of treatments – from facials to massages, Indian head massage, waxing, manicures and pedicures to the latest CACI Synergy non-surgical facial.

Hide AdThe salon has some promotions to celebrates its opening month and will have regular offers.
“We both love working in the beauty industry, because we both love helping people.
“There’s something really rewarding about knowing that when people come in to the salon, you are helping them to relax, unwind and they go out feeling better than when they came in.”
