A teenager who lived at a hostel damaged the premises and his own room there with a fire extinguisher and pool cue.

John Crompton took his rage out on the property after having an argument with his girlfriend.

Crompton, 18, of Alexandra Road, South Shore, admitted causing £500 of damage.

He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs with £25 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Prosecutor Malcolm Isherwood said that, on June 15, Crompton, who was then a resident at the resort’s The Foyer hostel, used a pool cue to damage walls and sockets.

After this, Crompton went to his room and damaged a wall, phone and furniture with a fire extinguisher.
